Teignbridge are a world-leading designer and manufacturer of precision performance propellers, sterngear and propulsion products. Employing CFD, simulation software and finite element analysis we guarantee the optimum design and performance for every project whether a motor yacht, fast patrol boat, pilot boat, super yacht or tanker. Using the latest CNC machinery and over 45 years of experience we produce the finest bronze propellers and stern gear from raw materials to the finished article at our UK based world leading facility. With over 65,000 sq ft of floor space and over 110 employees, Teignbridge is the largest propeller and stern gear producer of its kind in Europe.

3D Printed patterns and 5 Axis CNC patterns
The latest 3D printers and 5 Axis CNC machines are utilised in the pattern making process ensuring rapid and exact replication of the designed components. Patterns can be completed in hours, not days. Continual research and development ensure that each pattern is manufactured in the most appropriate material.
Modern Foundry
The modern and highly mechanised Teignbridge foundry has a melting capacity of approximately 4,000kg and is approved by LRS, BV, ABS DNV-GL, KR and others.
Precision Casting
Contemporary moulding techniques are employed to ensure high precision castings are produced for all components.
Extensive Machine Shop
The largest range of CNC lathes and milling machines ensures the versatility and capacity to meet all our customer’s needs. Accuracy and precision define the values of our highly qualified and experienced machinists
Inspection
All propellers are scanned during manufacture and at the final inspection to guarantee repeatable high tolerance manufacturing standards.
Teignbridge has several MRI Scanning Computerised Pitchometers, these accurately scan every propeller and produce a technical report that is sent with each propeller.
Ensuring Quality and Standards
To fully support the manufacturing process Teignbridge have commissioned a fully integrated ‘Enterprise Resource Planning’ software system across all functions, to effectively plan, process, load, schedule and monitor all orders. The final result is components designed and manufactured to the highest standards combined with repeatability and quality that can be relied upon in the toughest of conditions.

David Duncan
Group Chairman and Shareholder
David founded Teignbridge in 1974 with a partner. He served an apprenticeship in the aero industry before emigrating to Canada where he worked as a designer of special-purpose forestry vehicles. In addition to guiding the company, Dave is the driving force for innovation and product development at Teignbridge.
David Hunt
Director and Shareholder
Dave became a Design Draughtsman after serving a mechanical engineering apprenticeship in the aero industry. He joined Teignbridge in 1974 from a marine propulsion supplier. His main focus was on design and sales. Later he became more involved in general management and has extensive knowledge of both manufacturing and the marine market.
Mark Phare
Group Managing Director
Mark began his career as an Deck Officer in the merchant navy, studying at Plymouth University for the Master Mariners qualification. He then joined Intertek as a marine surveyor and then Operations Manager before joining Teignbridge in 2003. He has held several management roles within the company including Operations Director and his current role as Sales & Marketing Director. Mark is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute (AFNI).
James Batten
Engineering Director
After training as an Engineering Officer in the merchant navy, James joined Teignbridge in 1989. He has established an unrivalled reputation for designing propellers for all vessel types. He is a very experienced application engineer regarding sterngear and rudder systems for any type of vessel.
Dave Baker
Manufacturing Director
Dave started his career as an apprentice engineer at Teignbridge and has progressed through several key roles including Production Manager. He has a wealth of experience relating to production methods and processes.
Ian Mills
Finance Director
Ian joined Teignbridge in August 2012. He is an experienced Financial Manager having worked in many different sectors of industry. He oversees the finances of all Group companies in the UK, India, Asia and Dubai.
