Platform Type P Brackets

Teignbridge standard platform P brackets have been designed to suit single, twin, triple & quad screw production powerboats, cruisers, commercial, military and sailing boats. Using the same basic strut configuration the platform or palm of the bracket can be modified to suit the angle of the hull.
Aluminium bronze countersunk head fixing bolt assemblies and bronze backing plates can also be supplied to suit all brackets in the range. The strut thickness and chord lengths are designed to accommodate individual horse powers used on each vessel.  At the same time hydrodynamic designing  minimizes the weight and ensures optimum water flow into the propeller and keeps appendage drag down to a minimum.
Standard platform P brackets are supplied with Aqualube water lubricated bearings fitted. All P brackets in this range are supplied with a fine smooth finish to enhance the water flow onto the propeller.  Teignbridge design engineers can accommodate the requirements of all the major classification societies.

Glass-in Type P Bracket

Teignbridge standard glass-in P brackets also suit single, twin, triple & quad screw production powerboats, cruisers, commercial, military and sailing boats. This type of bracket offers the advantage of being adjustable in height and angle at installation. When the correct shaft alignment angle has been achieved the bracket can then be braced for fore and aft and lateral strength and “glassed-in” or ‘Chockfast’ into the hull.

It is recommended that a Naval Architect is consulted with regard to the method of fixing and the weight of the lay-up. The strut thickness and chord lengths have been designed to accommodate typical horse powers used, whilst keeping the weight and appendage drag to a minimum.

Standard glass-in P brackets are supplied with Aqualube water lubricated bearings fitted. The bearing is retained by stainless steel screws. All P brackets in this range are supplied with a fine, smooth finish to enhance the water flow onto the propeller.

For boats being built to the rules of a classification society it is recommended that the Teignbridge Sales Department is consulted.
