Teignbridge is uniquely equipped to support our customers with optimised propeller, rudder and shaftline designs. Teignbridge utilises newly developed powerful simulation tools to understand the interaction between the propeller structure and the high-velocity fluid flowing around its complex surfaces. This work requires the simulation and evaluation of a variety of complex phenomena relating to cavitation, pressure distribution in the fluid surrounding the propeller and transmission of vibration and noise through the fluid and vessel structures. Transient computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations are used to simulate the location, extent and type of cavitation and modify designs to avoid such potential cavitation and maximise performance.
At Teignbridge we use the technically superior StarCCM+ CFD software to design our shaft brackets and rudders to ensure that their influence on the water flow around the propeller is augmented to match the propeller design. We also undertake shaft whirling calculations (LVA) to optimise the designs of our shaftlines.
Should you experience or plan to avoid any propulsion problems, whether it’s speed, noise, vibration, cavitation, fuel consumption, galvanic corrosion, crevice corrosion, fractures or steering issues, our experienced, highly qualified and expert team is here to help, supported by the best software & hardware in the industry.
Teignbridge is renowned for its continuous commitment to innovation and R&D. This is demonstrated by our unique and award winning Clamp-on-Blade (CoB) design. Also, our specialist propulsion research vessel (HRV1) is unique among propeller designers and manufacturers globally. We are passionate about continuing to research new products, methods and processes, it’s in our DNA.

The revs are spot on and towing fine we are cut back anything between 200 and 250 revs and as much speed as we need. It’s like a different boat with no vibration whatsoever. I would just like to thank you [for] supplying exactly what we wanted nowadays it doesn’t always happen and the excellent service you provided.
It’s the Teignbridge Way
We always get a 5-star service from you, yes Jade I’m talking to you too!!! We really do appreciate the work you put in for us, it’s always quick and detailed just how we like it and we never have to chase. You are for sure one of our best suppliers for service/communication.
